Where the data comes from
Compound pages are assembled from free, redistributable, citable sources — never from another site's write-up. The stack differs by compound type, but the rule does not: if a claim cannot be traced to one of these, it does not go on the page.

What we refuse to use
The exclusions matter more than the inclusions, because they are where most content in this niche comes from.
- Supplement vendor blogsWritten to sell something. The conflict of interest is structural, not occasional.
- Forums and RedditNo provenance. This is the noise the site exists to be a quieter alternative to.
- Paywalled and licence-restricted databasesSome are excellent and still off-limits: their terms forbid redistribution, and building on them would make this site unrepublishable.
- Other people's write-upsWhere a competitor and this site cite the same trial, both went to the trial.
How strong is the evidence
Not every statement here is supported equally, and flattening that into one confident voice would be the easiest way to mislead you. Findings carry a tier, strongest first:
- Clinical
- A cited clinical source — a trial, or a curated monograph such as LiverTox. The only tier strong enough to support a positive safety statement.
- Regulatory
- Stated on an approved drug label or in a regulator's own tables, such as the FDA's CYP450 classifications. Authoritative about the drug, but sparse for research compounds.
- Pharmacovigilance
- Adverse events co-reported to FAERS. This is the weakest tier and the easiest to misread: a co-report is not a causal finding, only a pattern worth surfacing.
- Mechanism-inferred
- Two compounds plausibly interact because of what each is known to do. Reasoning, not observation — and marked as such rather than dressed up.
The bar moves with severity. The more serious a possible harm, the weaker the evidence we will act on to warn you about it. That asymmetry is deliberate: an unnecessary caution costs you very little, and a missed danger can cost a great deal.
Why the safety check says “insufficient data”
Build a cycle and most compound pairs come back purple — insufficient data, treat as unknown — rather than green. That is not the checker failing to finish. It is the honest answer.
No published study has looked at the large majority of pairings in this catalogue. A tool that reported those as “clear” would be converting nobody has checked into somebody checked and it was fine, which are opposite claims. So the resting state is purple, and absence of a warning never becomes a green light.
Green is defined in the engine and is deliberately not emitted yet. It requires a positively documented compatibility at the clinical tier, and until the evidence exists to earn it, showing it would be the single most harmful thing this site could do.
Corrections
Errors here matter more than on most sites, so the policy is simple: a reported error is checked against its primary source, and if the source does not say what the page says, the page changes. Compound pages carry the date they were last updated.
